that what is needed is a root and branch stripping out of unnecessary
admin which serves no benefit to the taxpayer and only detracts from
the time which is spent on advising clients in need. The pandemic
has shown us all how things can be done differently, and this is the
opportunity which should be grasped so that we can all focus on the
real task in hand.’

The Westminster Commission on Legal aid has published the findings of the Inquiry into the sustainability and recovery of the legal aid sector published - October 2021
The Westminster Commission heard evidence directly from current, former and future legal aid lawyers, and from clients, through a series of oral hearings and written submissions. The full report can be read here:

Team Macklaw are undertaking the London Legal Walk on 8 June but with a twist as people across the country undertake individual walks and instead take the 10,000 steps challenge, whilst observing social distancing measures.
This is all in order to raise money for legal advice charities. There has never been a more important time to support people in need of justice, with the cuts to legal aid and the reducing numbers of advice outlets. People desperately need help from specialists who can advise them properly.
